Monuments, architectural or non-architectural, is hard to be seen as a pure aggregation of constructions materials, but a symbol of power and desire of conquest. Such cases might be tombs of a great civilization long ago, but the same implications can also be applied to the expansion of modernism. The question lies in the lost of spirituality and wisdom rather than the passing of the ancient glory.
